Ink concept…

Well the concept I’ve been having in very general terms is getting clearer, as I look at tattoo artists galleries and artwork in general… Here in short is the what and why of my idea…

On the right sleeve:
Cthulhu, a gigantic and ancient creature, whose mere sight drives anyone mad, rising out of the sea, from his aeon-long slumber.
It represents water, madness, evil, chaos, destruction, death.

One the left sleeve:
A Phoenix, surrounded by flames.
It represents fire, life, wisdom, birth.

The back:
A Dragon, representing fire and air, battling a serpent, representing water and earth.
I’m still not sure whether I want another character on that piece, something like The Goddess, resplendent of light, struggling with the two creatures…

The first part I’m going to get made is the right sleeve, but I have to decide the style I’m going to go with, since I want the whole thing to be a coherent group. Possibilities I’m considering are:

-Japanese style,
-Art Nouveau
-”Gustave Doré”, gravure-type blackwork

I guess I’m gonna need to find a good artist to get the whole thing together…

Ink…

Getting inked has been on my mind for a very long time, now, since one of my former girlfriends got a tattoo, in fact, which I guess was 10 years ago… I’ve seen many of my friends go under the needle, with some good results, and some less good results, and in all that time I’ve never figured out what I would want on my skin forever…

I’ve had ideas, I have concepts, but I’ve seen many people stuck with smaller pieces which prevent them from doing more complete sleeves of backpieces, because they do not want to cover them up or are not compatible with the larger piece…

That’s why, even though I don’t necessarily want a full backpiece with full sleeves, I’m trying to think ahead and to design a first sleeve with the rest in mind, even if the rest never gets done…

Welcome to my madness

Cool! Antoher blog! that must make this the 10th blog that I start and then fail to update regularly… This one though seems like a nice enough place… I think I’ll stick around, and I might even bring over my stuff from my other blogs, so I have all my stuff in one place! :)
