“Tales of Old Earth”…
While googling “tales old earth”, just to see where this newly created blog would show up, I came accross a short story compilation book by Michael Swanwick entitled “Tales of Old Earth”…
I guess that means I have to find another title for my story, and read that book!
This brings to light one of the hardships of fantasy and sci-fi writers: trying to be original, and not step on anyone’s already published work on the way…

After reading this I sought out Angel and Wars on google.
To my surprise I found a kids – Christian – TV show called exactly, Angel Wars. Apparently these Angels fly down and fight demons (or daemons) that try to inflict themselves on Mankind…
Funny, and a little disconcerting. The last think I want is people thinking this story, my story is a religious message wrapped in a volatile war in a world we don’t know…
…but with the swearing I imagine will creep in, the violence and the other questionably non-Christian things, I think I’m okay.
(I’m adding you to my blogroll, I enjoy reading about 27th Century Earth.)
I caught an episode of Doctor Who last night that was taking place on a mining colony on Pluto, and they referred to Earth as “Old Earth”…
I guess I’ll have to live with that, and like you, provide relevant content to distance myself from the other works who use the term “Old Earth”, which, speaking of religiousness, is also used by Creationists in their debate between old earth and young earth creationism…
As for the 27th Century, I’ll be moving on to the 30th soon. Different and the same all at once, I hope you enjoy that too!
